What is Extraordinary Education?

Hi! Thanks for stopping by.

Extra-Ordinary Education has two core strands: Arts based workshops to improve confidence and professional training.

Here at Extraordinary Education we take an in interactive, communication (and fun!) based approach to tackling issues which affect the success and wellbeing of our communities and schools. Be it social isolation, SEN, community cohesion, barriers to opportunities, social skills, or mental health and wellbeing - Extra- Ordinary Education can help.

I have developed lots of training in the last 2 years that can help support educators and social care professionals to maximise impact and work more effectively with their students and service users. I have three core areas of training that I can deliver:

  • SEN - Areas of Need, Effective use of TA’s, Connecton before Correction

  • WELLBEING AND RESILIENCE - An interactive, research based approach to developing a culture of wellbeing in your setting

  • TRAUMA AND ADHD:Unpacking the Presentation - Using very recent data, practical knowledge and the latest research, this training unpacks the presentation between the two areas of need, highlights commonalities and offers strategies.

PRICE:

2 hour session - £200 plus expenses (subject to location and brief)

FULL DAY - Between £450 and £700 depending on level of bespoke planning plus expenses ( Subject to location and brief)

I have a PGCE, First Class Honours Degree from the University of Manchester, NASENCO ( National Award in Special Education Needs Coordination) and a Masters in Creativity so I am confident that my qualifications coupled with over 20 years experience working with children and young people, I can meet your needs!

I have some lovely testimonials that I have gathered this term - I will share them here in the coming weeks.

About Extraordinary Education, and our community engagement projects

I have a proven track record of excellence in delivering artistic innovation and working to neighbourhood priorities.

Throughout the 2000’s I led on building a Community Outreach Department for the Everyman and Playhouse Theatres. Here I delivered £20,000 of commissions for Liverpool’s tenure of European Capital of culture for 4 consecutive years.

Throughout this time I built a core programme of activity, supported loyally by a Community Leader’s Forum and designed a package of activities called ‘Included’.

During this work I developed active, dynamic multi-agency relationships with stakeholders from the Police, prisons and probation, local authorities, the Youth Service, care agencies, charities and grassroots organisations.
